The MacNaughton Laboratory building on campus at the University of Guelph is undergoing a phased renewal to modernize the aging 60-year-old facility. Matheson was selected to perform phase 2 of this project which included renovations to three floors, basement, and mechanical penthouse.
Renovations consisted of upgrading interiors and finishes, interior and exterior lighting, building automation system, mechanical and electrical systems including fume hoods and high plume laboratory exhausts, HVAC upgrades including pumps, heating and chilled water, compressed air and steam, air monitoring, the addition of CCTV cameras, fire alarm system upgrade and overall building accessibility improvements.
