2008 – Matheson Constructors is established, commencing on it’s first project the Georgian Downs Casino Wastewater Treatment Plant, the start of many casino projects.
2010 – Matheson joins the Ontario General Contractors Association.
2010/2011 – Matheson continues push into civil market with Breakwater Sewage Pumping Station, Joe Dales Sewage Pump Station, Banff Water Treatment Plant Modifications, Sudbury Wastewater Treatment Plant and Biosolids Management Facility and Dufferin Organics Processing Facility.
2011 – Matheson completes its first out of province project, a wastewater treatment plant modification in Banff, Alberta.
2012 – Matheson completes the modular construction of Algoma University’s Spirit Residence.
2012 – Matheson is awarded Sudbury Biosolids, the first municipal public-private partnership biosolids project in Canada and later recipient of the Chuck Wills Award for P3 Excellence.
2014 – Matheson completes the Toronto Transit Commission Malvern Bus Garage Pilot Project, the first of many transit projects across the Greater Toronto Area.
2014 – Matheson partners with Indigenous communities to deliver several critical infrastructure projects, including the Serpent River Water Treatment Plant and Lake Huron water intake.
2015 – Matheson completes the Shorelines Belleville Casino, the first new casino to open in Ontario in over 10 years. Matheson has since completed six more gaming facilities throughout Ontario.
2016 – Matheson enters the food and beverage distribution and manufacturing construction sector with significant projects for two food service clients. The work of this division continues with several on-going projects with repeat clients.
2017 – Matheson establishes its Virtual Design and Construction department with its flagship design-assist project the Cronos Peace Naturals Medicinal Cannabis Production Facility, the largest purpose built indoor cannabis facility in world at its time in response to pending legalization in Canada.
2017 – Matheson acquires Tapa Construction Inc.
2018 – Matheson achieves Certificate of Recognition (COR), a national safety standard.
2019 – Matheson moves to new corporate and district home office which has facilitated more collaboration between our various businesses.
2020 – Matheson completes the Sobeys Voilà Customer Fulfillment Centre project in Vaughan, Ontario. A state-of-the-art facility at the forefront of automated grocery e-commerce.
2020 – Matheson acquires Tribury Constructors Inc.
2021 – Matheson establishes dedicated Special Projects Division.
