Pioneer Manor Long-Term Care Facility

Project Details

Client: City of Greater Sudbury
Location: Sudbury, Ontario
Building Type: Health Care
Contract: Lump Sum

The Pioneer Manor Long-Term Care Facility is one of the premiere seniors campuses in Northern Ontario, located in Sudbury.

This redevelopment project featured the addition of a three-storey 120,000 SF building providing 188 new beds in six home units. Each home is divided into a variety of private, standard and two-bedroom units with lounge space, common activity rooms, kitchenette and balconies.

The three-storey building as designed as a ‘V’ shape to allow for a large winter garden and concourse. Due to varied ground conditions, several foundation types were required including piles, cast-in-place and bedrock. The project team worked closely with engineers to quickly address issues and expedite construction to complete ahead of schedule and within budget.
