This long-term care facility was constructed near the banks of the Whitson River in Val Caron, Ontario. The facility houses all of the necessary services to ensure each resident at the facility enjoys a comfortable, active and healthy lifestyle. The property grounds are meticulously manicured with bountiful gardens, spacious courtyards and scenic walking trails. While inside the facility boasts many amenities including a hair salon, greenhouse, dining halls, exercise facilities, community spaces, chapel and a full service kitchen.
The 128 bed, two-storey, 79,000 square-foot facility was constructed primarily with cast-in-place concrete foundations. Load-bearing architectural masonry above grade and pre-cast hollow core slabs. This project was unique with the integration of a mansard roof constructed out of structural steel and metal shingles to shadow the mechanical systems on the roof.
