A new tenant super centre is coming to Lime Ridge Mall in Hamilton, Ontario!
We are excited to be a part of the store conversion. The approximately 140,000 square foot store will fill a vacant space Sears space that closed in 2017. Nine years later, it is much anticipated by this growing community.
Matheson has completed the demolition portion of the project, as the building sat dormant, the rooms, shelving collected dust and debris that required careful attention to ensure it did not affect the public mall as it remains open for the duration of the project.
Our construction teams are currently preparing the exterior of the building while simultaneously progressing the complete interior fit-out of the two-storey building. This large-scale project includes significant roof work, installation of new RTU's, extensive mechanical systems - including refrigeration - and complete electrical tenant fit-up from the main electrical feed. The project also involves major vertical transportation upgrades: installation of a new buggy escalator, three new elevators, and a retrofit to the existing freight elevator.
Tenant projects are unique in the sense that materials and equipment are acquired by Tenant, installed by the General Contractor. There can be lots of coordination and tracking to these packages that are delivered to the jobsite. There is also lot of work we are doing to bring it up to today’s retailers standards and meet the set brand requirements by one of the world’s largest retail brands.
Opening in early 2027, we love the idea of seeing the space alive and active again!
