Based in the Town of Cobourg, the Golden Plough Lodge has served the Northumberland community for more than 100 years, providing compassionate long-term care to local residents and families. To meet evolving resident needs and current best practices in long-term care, the project delivered a new 195,000 sq. ft., 180-bed facility adjacent to the existing lodge on County-owned land.
A unique component of the development was the integration of the Northumberland County Archives & Museum, creating a shared community destination featuring expanded public research space, exhibition and program areas, climate-controlled collections storage, and a dedicated processing and conservation lab.
