The City was seeking ways to support more economic and cultural diversity, to demonstrate sustainable leadership, and to do so through a rich and varied offering of public facilities and amenities.
The Carville Community Centre & Library provides a focal point for a growing community, net-zero carbon performance, and enhances Vaughan’s natural heritage through an expansive park program.
Prioritizing inclusivity and accessibility, the multi-purpose two level interior spaces includes an aquatics hall featuring a six-lane, 25-metre lap pool and a teaching pool, a competitive-size gymnasium with an elevated perimeter walking track, a daycare, and a new community library.
The project extends to the exterior public space with the development of a new community park featuring an ice-skating trail, junior and senior playgrounds, water play features, tennis/pickleball courts, basketball courts, and a bike pump track.
