Leadership
Guided by years of industry experience and a strong entrepreneurial mindset, our leadership team drives the vision and execution behind every project. Leading intentionally in every decision made, and how we empower our teams to do the same, so that everyone on our team has a sense of ownership.
Executive Team
Our executive leadership believe in three fundamentals: trust, clarity, and genuinely caring.
Allan founded Matheson Group of Companies in 2008, an Aurora-based construction firm growing steadily – already ranked 23 among Canada’s top general contractors and employs over 500 people across Ontario. Al is committed to continue Matheson’s position as a rising industry leader and delivering a bright future for construction and the communities which benefit from it.
Allan has over 30 years in construction and has been a vocal advocate for the industry where he serves on various boards and committees in Ontario, including a Board of Director for the Ontario General Contractors Association, and the recently formed Takwata Barclay Limited partnership, a 51% wholly owned Taykwa Tagamou Nation construction services provider specially focused on the Hydro Power sector. Hailing from Timmins, Ontario, Al is also a board of director member with Ontario Northland.
Long-term investment in community building, and giving back to vulnerable people within them, Matheson supports the Southlake and Timmins Hospital Foundations, and the York Regional Police Holiday Heroes Holiday campaign, are among other local initiatives.
Known for his humility (and humour), he leads with intention – focused on continuous growth, operational excellence, and building a desirable culture that empowers teams to think differently and challenge the status quo in construction.

Partnerships & Teamwork
How we work together as a team, achieve mutual success, and earn client loyalty comes from putting aside ego and putting people above all else.
We move at a quick pace by removing distractions, remaining flexible, and focusing on execution. At the same time, we aren’t afraid to pause when something feels off or unsafe. Taking the time to assess the situation helps us make better decisions, protect our people, and deliver stronger outcomes.
We lead with integrity, even in the relentless pursuit of excellence. Our construction team doesn’t stop until the job is done right. When challenges arise, we stay accountable, work together, and always find a way forward.
The best ideas and innovations begin with strong communication, and the greatest obstacles often stem from communication breakdowns. We can’t meet expectations if we don’t understand them, so we take the time to align on goals, clarify responsibilities, ask questions, and keep one another informed. Open, honest communication builds trust, strengthens teamwork, and ensures everyone is working toward the same outcome.
Let’s Build Together
Whether you’re looking to grow your career or bring your next project to life, our team is ready to help you move forward.
