After the successful completion of the 255,000 SF Sobeys Voilà Customer Fulfillment Centre in Vaughan, Matheson was selected again by it’s client to perform this 34,000 SF alteration to an existing warehouse, formerly a Future Shop retail shell location, in order to function as a spoke cross docking facility to meet increasing demands of Sobeys’ e-commerce grocery service.

The scope of services for this project generally includes demolition of existing facility interior, the addition of nine van loading docks, the addition of two trailer loading docks, an interior fitout of approximately 15,000 SF general office space, interior fitout of approximately 15,000 SF food logistics space, addition of a 1,500 SF interior walk-in cooler, main electrical service upgrades including an exterior back-up generator, secured van parking area with power requirements, and all site servicing / civil work required to operate the facility.
