Grace Hartman Amphitheatre

Project Details

Client: City of Greater Sudbury
Location: Sudbury, Ontario
Building Type: Entertainment
Contract: Lump Sum

This project entailed the new construction of the 4,800 SF Grace Hartman Amphitheater in order to replace the original Bell Park Amphitheatre, which had originally been built in 1967 and fallen into disrepair and out of use. Located in Bell Park on the shores of Lake Ramsay, great care was taken to rehabilitate and restore the site while respecting the legacy of this historic public space. This new facility is now host to many various community festivals and features a barrier free design with a combination of 450 traditional hard seats as well as 1,500 soft seats in the grass surrounding the stage. New sound and lighting systems we installed as well as a covered stage and change rooms. The new acoustics featured in this facility ensures the best possible experience for performers and attendees while also maintaining that the excessive sound is not an issue for lakeside residents or other park users.
