Matheson was retained by Furlani Foods to undertake a multi-phase, multi-year expansion and renovation to their primary baking facility in Mississauga. Phase I was awarded on a lump-sum contract for the construction of a 30,000 SF freezer expansion which included a 5,000 SF loading dock. Phase II was performed as a design-build to upgrade the bakery production capacity by adding new process equipment including silos, blowers and a large walk-in oven enclosed within a new 3,000 SF addition. Phase III was the upgrade of all existing buildings including significant structural upgrades for snow-loads and additional material handling equipment. Phase IV comprised of optimization of the existing 10,000 SF administrative space . Phase V included the expansion of the Phase I freezer space for additional capacity.
